Freedom Films at Picturehouse: RBG – 13th December 2018

We’ve just learned that the critically acclaimed documentary about the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, RBG, is showing at Cambridge PictureHouse this Thursday 13th December. Meet others from Freedom Film Club in the bar beforehand (from 17:45-18:10), and stay for the panel discussion, and possibly further discussion afterwards.

Jason Solomans; Film Critic and Writer, Margie Orford; acclaimed author, board member of PEN and author of PEN’s Women’s Manifesto and Emma Long; Senior Lecturer in American Studies at the University of East Anglia. Hosted by Mia Bays who runs Birds’ Eye View, the charitable pathfinder for films by women and network for those who make, show, release and watch them.

At the age of 84… Ginsburg has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon. But without a definitive Ginsburg biography, the unique personal journey of this diminutive, quiet warrior’s rise to the nation’s highest court has been largely unknown, even to some of her biggest fans – until now. RBG is a revelatory documentary exploring Ginsburg ‘s exceptional life and career from Betsy West and Julie Cohen, and co-produced by Storyville Films and CNN Films.
