This week sees the launch of the Freedom Film Foundation, which will curate regular event dedicated to films exploring human freedom in the modern world.

The club meets remotely on the hashtag #FreedomFilmClub, and as an informal gathering in Cambridge, UK.

Our first film is Playtime, Jacques Tati’s classic, exploring in the director’s inimitable style our relationship with technology and modernity. There’s a useful primer here and the trailer:

Please let us know if you’ll be watching, and share your thoughts on the hashtag, or if you’re in Cambridge and would like to attend in person.
